Options Management
There are two ways to manage equipment in Yoplanning: automatic, defined in the session, and optional, where it is a customer choice. This article focuses on creating options, a choice left to the end customer.
Steps to Create an Option
Open Product in Edit Mode:
Navigate to the relevant product and open it in edit mode. Go to the “Options” section to begin the process.
Add an Options List:
Click "Add option list" to create a new choice of options for your customers.
Set List Name:
Enter the name of the option list. This name should be phrased as the question asked to your customer, for example, "Would you like to add any special equipment?".
Select the Nature of the Option (Mandatory or Optional):
Determine whether choosing this option is mandatory or optional for the customer. If the option is optional, a "No thanks" choice is automatically added to the drop-down list so customers can opt out of selecting an option.
Add Options:
Select the previously created material to add it as an option. You can add multiple options by repeating this step.
To safeguard:
Once all options are added, save your changes to apply the options to the product.
Important note:
Please note, the options can be defined directly in the sessions, when you create a session, the options defined in the product are copied, but they can be modified directly in the sessions. This to allow, for example, to define different prices in a certain period of the season, or simply put different options at different times.
User Tips and Best Practices
Clarity of Options: Make sure the name and description of the options are clear to your customers, so they easily understand what they are choosing.
Testing Options: Test the options functionality by creating a test command to ensure everything works as expected.
Resolving Common Problems
Options Not Displayed: If the options are not displayed correctly during the sale, check that you have saved all your modifications and that the list of options is correctly associated with the product concerned. Also check in the session that the options are present.
Mandatory Options Ignored: Ensure that mandatory settings are configured correctly if clients can override mandatory options.
By following these steps and tips, you will be able to effectively create and manage options for products in Yoplanning, improving your customers' shopping experience.
