Generate promo codes
What is the “Generate promo codes” feature for?
The “Generate promo codes” feature allows you to create discount codes for your customers. These codes can be used in various promotions and can be generated either singly for specific use or multiple times for wider distribution.
Steps to use the “Generate Promo Codes” feature
Access to functionality
Log in to your Yoplanning.pro account.
Go to the “Administration” menu then “Configuration”
Select “Promo Codes” from the list of available options.
Creating a promo code
Name: Enter an internal name for your business operation. This name will not be visible to customers.
Code generation: Choose between "Single" for a single code or "Multiple" to generate several codes at once.
Unique: Used for specific promotions, such as an email with a unique promo code.
Multiple: Used for broader promotions, such as distributing multiple coupons to a works council.
Code: Enter the promotional code that your customers will use. For example, “Noel25”. Note that case does not matter. (In the "multiple" case, this code is generated randomly.)
Discount: Indicate the percentage or amount of discount the code will apply.
Maximum number of uses: Set how many times the code can be used. (Leave blank if you want it to be infinite.)
Dates:
Select whether validity dates are based on "Sessions" or "Orders".
Session: The promotion is valid for activities taking place between the defined dates.
Order: The promotion is valid for orders placed between the defined dates.
Products: Add the products to which the promo code applies. You can choose to apply the code to all products or just some.
Tips for use and best practices
Use clear and descriptive names for your promo codes to make their internal management easier.
Always check the validity period and associated products before finalizing the creation of the promo code.
For large promotions, use the "Multiple" option to generate multiple codes in one go.
Common errors or problems and solutions
Invalid code: Make sure that the code entered respects the case and syntax defined when it was created.
Expired code: Check the validity dates set for the promo code.
Number of uses exceeded: If the code has reached its maximum number of uses, you will need to create a new code or increase the limit.
Ineligible products: Make sure the code is applied to the correct products by checking the list of products associated with the promo code.
Customers will then be able to use this promo code in the payment page of the reservation module at the top left.
